Prop Preparation Changes: Version the Rule Before the Next Decision
A trading preparation plan can improve over time while preserving its original evidence. Save the old version, the change and the first decision for which the new version applies. That makes a review useful without rewriting history.

Give the change an effective boundary
Record version ID, authoring time, effective time, changed field and reason. Separate a factual correction from a new decision rule. A corrected typo may preserve the intended rule, while changing a threshold creates a different preparation method.
For a British journal, use full dates and an explicit timezone. A note made after a result should not inherit the earlier plan timestamp. Keep its actual creation and effective times even if the change seems obvious afterwards.
Apply a fictional threshold revision
Suppose version A requires at least 20 observations and version B later requires 30. An earlier decision made with 24 observations met A’s sample-size criterion. It did not meet B’s criterion, but B was not the original rule. Preserve both statements with their scope.
A review can replay old data under B as a separate retrospective experiment. Label that replay explicitly. Do not substitute its result for the original decision record or claim that a later criterion was known in advance.
| Record | Criterion | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Version A | At least 20 observations | Original criterion |
| Earlier decision | 24 observations | Meets A sample-size criterion |
| Version B | At least 30 observations | Later criterion |
| Retrospective replay | 24 against 30 | Fails B; separate experiment |
Link the plan to actual account conditions
This site’s original plan-version journal remains the companion. Personal criteria do not replace the purchased evaluation conditions, and satisfying a preparation threshold does not establish a successful stage. Keep the current HashHedge agreement and observed account state separately.
The optional sponsored link is for programme information. This worksheet edits no actual account rule, submits no application and forecasts no trading result. Its purpose is a traceable change record that can be reviewed even when a new method performs worse.
